Building in Stone Today takes a critical look at what the choice of stone in structure is doing to contemporary architecture, in terms of both practice and form. Drawing on case studies in Switzerland, Spain and England, it places everyday situations in working with the material at its centre.
On the occasion of the Zurich book launch, Lucia Gratz (werk, bauen+wohnen) will moderate a short discussion with the author, Natália Peťková, and Elli Mosayebi (EMI Architekt*innen, ETH Zürich) about some of the practical and cultural considerations around employing stone in its load-bearing or self-supporting capacity today.
