Living in London

London evokes many imaginaries and ideas. This thematic issue investigates the residential project as a critical juncture, a concurrence of opportunities to challenge convention. With its rich architectural heritage, immense physicality, and multilayered history, architects working in London must grapple with financial constraints amid the economic promotion of private development. Guest-edited by Andrew Clancy and Marwa el Mubark, the projects presented here revisit typical architectural programmes. Through diverse approaches and ranging from terrace house and warehouse renovations to adaptive reuse, all contribute to the complexity and enduring fascination of this city.
